Our exercise sheet “Derby” was developed for training and movement in wet, cold and changeable weather and provides reliable protection without restricting the horse’s natural freedom of movement. It supports the back muscles during training under the saddle, keeps wind and rain out, and ensures a comfortable temperature during movement thanks to its breathable construction. A special feature is the removable saddle cover, which protects the saddle from moisture during warm-up walking or in the horse walker and is simply removed before riding – keeping the seating area dry while the horse starts training optimally prepared.

  600D ripstop material is an especially robust and durable fabric that is often used for outdoor products such as horse blankets, bags or tents. The term “600D” refers to the yarn strength of the material, with 600 denier indicating high durability. “Ripstop” describes a special weave in which reinforced threads are incorporated in a grid pattern. This pattern prevents small tears from spreading further, making the material particularly tear-resistant. • Is a 5,000 mm water column sufficient for persistent rain?
  Yes, a 5,000 mm water column is absolutely sufficient for persistent rain. A water column indicates how much water per square meter the fabric can withstand before it penetrates. With 5,000 mm, the exercise sheet reliably protects against heavy and prolonged rain. In practice, this means the exercise sheet remains highly water-repellent even in intense rain and keeps the horse dry.

  The breathability of our horse blankets is ensured by the ripstop fabric used, which has a breathability of 3,000 g/m². This allows moisture and heat to escape from the horse while keeping wetness out from the outside. That is why it is important that rain sheets do not have a water column above 5,000 mm. A higher water column would impair breathability, causing the horse to sweat quickly under the sheet.

  This value describes how well moisture (e.g. sweat) is transported outward through the material to ensure a comfortable climate for the horse. In this case, 3,000 grams of water vapour per square meter of material can escape within a day. This keeps the horse dry and prevents overheating or moisture build-up.

• What does ISO certified mean?
  An ISO certification for a horse blanket means that the product complies with certain international standards defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This certification ensures that the horse blankets have been tested in various areas such as quality, safety and environmental compatibility.   Our exercise sheet is very easy to care for and can be washed at 30 degrees in the machine or by hand. This makes cleaning uncomplicated and quick. However, we would like to point out that repeated washing can cause the waterproofing of the exercise sheet to become slightly weaker over time. To maintain the waterproofness and protection of the exercise sheet, we recommend reproofing it regularly or using special waterproofing products.

  No. Thanks to the adjustable hook-and-loop fasteners at the chest and withers area, the training sheet can be individually adjusted. This keeps it stable in all gaits or in the horse walker.

• How visible are the reflective elements in low light or from a long distance?
  At dusk and in complete darkness, the reflective elements of the exercise sheet are extremely visible – even from a long distance. They work on the same principle as safety vests in the car and thus provide maximum visibility and safety for your horse. A phone flash or a phone torch is already enough to make the reflective elements clearly visible.
